The above photo shows a designer fireplace and features much less visible sheet metal than cheaper boxes - even from the same manufacturer! In addition, it has a taller openings.

The most common opening is 36" x 20". A typical masonry fireplace is 36" x 28". While there are larger sizes available for both fireplaces, the smallest Icon has an opening of 36" x 28 1/2" and the Majestic is 36" x 24".
