Door Locks

When we say "locks" we are referring to the mechanism inside the door, regardless of whether or not it actually locks the door.  It opens and closes it; also known as the "latch".  There are a few different types of locks: tubular latch and mortise. Each of which has either a passage or privacy function. Both these types are featured on interior and exterior locks. The slideshow below will explain the differences between them.

This is the interior of a "Heavy-Duty" mortise lock - typically found on entrance doors and used interchangeably with any of the trim options (plus others) shown above. It offers a smoother close, firmer feel and quieter application. Certainly one of the finest locks available and completely superior from a tubular latch/deadbolt combination - commonly found in most lumberyards and home center stores. The mortise lock offers tailored looks and superb quality.
