Hinges

Brassworks offers a range of premium quality hinges. These hinges are always made from solid brass and have many different quality finishes. They are of an extruded quality and offer an extremely smooth action. We can accommodate any quantity or size needed.

This is a typical 3 1/2" by 3 1/2" hinge. This size is standard for most 1 3/8" interior doors and you should put 3 hinges on each door, regardless of the weight or size. For an 1 3/4" exterior door, a 4" by 4" hinge is recommended, again using 3 hinges on the door. Thicker doors require larger hinges. We can size up any door thickness with a hinge in an appropriate finish and a "squeak-free" smooth operation.
olive knuckle door hinge
A decorative approach to hinges brings us to the "olive knuckle" hinge. These are lift-off style hinges and feature a uniquely crafted hinge barrel, which shows on the inside of the room. They will stand out more than any other hinge and come in three different styles, many finishes and sizes. In addition to exquisite looks, the liftoff design offers a smoother action which will stay squeak-free indefinitely. They are priced per each hinge.
